Bridal trial with Vanessa

I’ve had the pleasure of doing Vanessa’s make-up on numerous occasions, so I was honoured to be asked to be the  make-up artist for her upcoming wedding.

Vanessa has the most beautiful green eyes with pretty flecks of gold and brown, so we kept the eye makeup to a minimum and played up the liner and lashes to give definition and a touch of glam yet still keeping the look natural and “bridal”.

I like to apply thin layers of make-up to avoid the “cake face” look (and feel). This technique lets me build up the contours without adding a ton of makeup. Too much and too thick will just slide off and cake up, which is the total opposite of what a bride needs. Never a good look.

I also layered the lashes (3 types in fact!) to create a custom look for Vanessa. I use lashes from the Helen Dowsley Lashes collection for this type of layering because they are as light as a feather and very comfortable to wear.

La Femme Blush Palette Review & Swatches

Pigment, pigment, pigment!         …..did I mention pigment?

It has been a crazy few months for me since I started my MOBILE MAKE-UP BAR in addition to my bridal make-up services and I have been burning through products like it’s nobody’s business.

A new kit was required as my old one just wasn’t cutting the mustard when it came to mobility, so, after lots of window shopping, I got a ZUCA Pro (love).

This of course needed filling from my current kit …..and this is when the editing process began. My kit needs to be travel friendly but still full of all the beautiful products my clients expect from me…..and they have to perform…well.

One of the products on my wish/want/need list was a new blush palette. not just any old blush palette….I needed a hero….and guess what?

Got one!

Enter the La Femme (Exclusive) Blush Palette from Camera Ready Cosmetics to sweep me off my freshly pedicured little feet……..

LaFemme Palette 2a

I have been using this palette on my clients for about 2 weeks and I just can’t put it down.

This is why.

  • The pigment is incredibly rich. The tiniest bit goes a long way.
  • Well organised palette of cool and warm tones.
  • Excellent colour selection (check out the swatches)

LaFemme Swatches Collage

  • Because of the rich pigment, the products can be used in multiple ways. For example: mixed with a clear gloss.
  • Soft Beige and Sienna are beautiful contour colours.
  • The texture is almost creamy so they blend beautifully.
  • Slimline palette that travels well (I am in Australia and this was shipped (fast) from the USA, in perfect condition)
  • Mostly matte colours

LaFemme Palette 3ab

  • The colours photograph beautifully
  • No fading….they lasted all day and night.
Laura 1ab
Soft Beige blush from LaFemme
  • Comparable to any of the high end brands in my kit.
  • Cost effective….like really cost effective (AUD $60.90 before Pro Artist Discount) That’s getting close to what I would pay for ONE Nars blush in Australia!
  • Shipping costs to Australia are surprising low from CRC.
  • Everything I need in one neat, compact place.
  • My hero….  😉
